Our Purpose & Vision
At UAW Local 659, we stand united to uplift workers and their families in Flint, honoring our rich history and strong community ties.
We are dedicated to providing resources, support, and events that empower our members, both active and retired. With a legacy that dates back to the historic 1936-37 sit-down strike, we hold fast to our roots while embracing the present. Our commitment to advocacy and education ensures that every voice is heard. Together, we strive for fair wages, better working conditions, and a brighter future for all. Join us as we continue to build solidarity and strength in our community, creating a lasting impact for generations to come.
Our Member Services
Union Benefits Representatives
We have Union Benefit Representatives in Office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays weekly.
Legal Services
UAW/GM Members have access to UAW Legal Services; ALL Members can get free consultations from attorneys visiting Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays weekly.
Hall Rentals
We offer two rental spaces for Members only: the Auditorium and the pavilion with ball fields. Fees and deposits vary by day and space.
Community Events
From monthly union meetings to getting involved with Events that will help raise Community and Membership Awareness.
Retirement Classes
Our Education Committee puts on Pre/Post Retirement Classes annually to help our Members prepare for their future!
UAW Made
Our Union Label Committee helps put together information about Union-Made Cars, Products and Services for Union Households!
